Palworld Base Pals in 2026: My Picks for a Fast, Self-Sufficient Workforce
I have a confession: my first Palworld base was a disaster. I stuffed it with whichever cute Pals wandered into my sphere, then wondered why my stone pit looked like a retirement home. In 2026, the lesson still holds — a strong, self-sufficient base is the engine behind every successful expedition. While I’m out climbing cliffs and poking at Alpha bosses, my companions should be churning out ore, food, medicine, and ammo. Efficiency is the name of the game, and these are the base Pals I trust to earn their keep.

The 2026 shortlist: workers I actually assign
I still test every candidate by watching one full work cycle. If a Pal spends more time pathing around my production line than actually producing, it gets benched. These picks pass that test.
Arsox — the forge-and-kitchen workhorse
Arsox is my direct upgrade to Foxparks when it comes to forges and cooking stations. With Lv. 2 Kindling, they hover by the furnace like a line cook during dinner rush, turning ore into ingots and raw meat into meals before I finish sorting my inventory. I find them in the highlands of the Bamboo Grove, east of the Quivern boss arena, and there are also habitats in the temperate part of the snowy mountain island. If you’re setting up a cold-weather base, trust me, an Arsox or two will save you a lot of waiting.
Univolt — the power plant with hooves
When it comes to powering a base, Univolt is one of my favorite choices. Their Lv. 2 Generating Electricity beats what Jolthog or Sparkit can do, and they can help harvest wood on the side. During raids, their strong AOE attacks let them damage multiple enemies at once, so they are not just standing around looking majestic. I usually grab a flying mount and survey the same regions where Arsox spawns; Univolts tend to roam in small groups. They keep the lights on and bring the thunder when trouble arrives.
Penking — the five-tool generalist
Penking is the Pal I call when a base needs a little of everything. Lv. 2 proficiencies in Watering, Cooling, Handiwork, Mining, and Transporting make them a superb general worker. The catch is capture difficulty: without high-tier Pal Spheres or Lifmunk Effigies to boost Pal Capture Power, Penking can be a real headache. I only find wild Penkings in the isolated wildlife sanctuary south of the Plateau of Beginnings, and there is an Alpha Penking northwest of Alpha Chillet by the Fort Ruins. I budget extra spheres for this one.
Bushi — the lumberjack with a blade
If wood is the bottleneck, Bushi is my answer. Lv. 3 Lumbering makes them one of the best lumberjacks in the game, and Lv. 2 Transporting plus Lv. 2 Kindling means they stay useful after the trees are down. They turn a grove into planks before I finish checking the map. I find Bushis on the southern beach of Mount Obsidian, the big volcano island in the southwest corner, or I hunt the Alpha Bushi in the Bamboo Grove, slightly southwest of the Ravine Entrance teleport waypoint.
Bristla — the base nurse
Medicine production can quietly stall an otherwise good base. Bristla fixes that with Lv. 2 Medicine Production, plus basic Planting, Gathering, Handiwork, and Transporting. I often see them tending farms and making sure the workforce is fed, which is a very polite way of saying they keep the whole operation from falling apart. They appear early in the very center of the map. There is no Alpha variant boss arena for Bristla, but I have run into one naturally while exploring the center island.
Ribunny — the ammo assembly line
Do not let the cute face and Lv. 1 proficiencies fool you. Ribunny is arguably the best Pal for manufacturing weapons and ammo because their Skilled Fingers Partner Skill gives a work efficiency bonus at a Weapon Workbench. When I need ammunition in bulk, Ribunny is the one I assign. They are not the strongest fighters, but that Partner Skill more than makes up for it. I find them far west of the Plateau of Beginnings near the Alpha Sweepa boss arena, and occasionally in Syndicate camp cages.

My quick reference table
| Pal | Best base job | Key proficiency | Where I look |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arsox | Forges and cooking | Lv. 2 Kindling | Bamboo Grove highlands; snowy mountain island |
| Univolt | Power and wood | Lv. 2 Generating Electricity | Same regions as Arsox; survey from a flying mount |
| Penking | General base work | Lv. 2 Watering, Cooling, Handiwork, Mining, Transporting | Wildlife sanctuary south of the Plateau of Beginnings; Alpha near Fort Ruins |
| Bushi | Lumber | Lv. 3 Lumbering; Lv. 2 Transporting and Kindling | Southern beach of Mount Obsidian; Alpha in Bamboo Grove |
| Bristla | Medicine and farming | Lv. 2 Medicine Production; basic Planting, Gathering, Handiwork, Transporting | Center of the map |
| Ribunny | Weapons and ammo | Skilled Fingers Partner Skill | West of the Plateau near Alpha Sweepa; Syndicate cages |
Tier 1 Pals still deserve a spot
I know it is tempting to chase only the flashiest workers. Do not ignore Pengullet, Lamball, and Foxparks. They may not be as efficient as the Pals above, but they are plentiful and reliable. I always keep a few in my Palbox in case I need more hands after a raid, a rebuild, or a sudden resource crunch. A base is a living thing, and depth matters.
Capture notes I wish I had earlier
Bring Giga or Hyper Spheres when hunting these Pals; the extra capture power is worth the inventory space. Some have Alpha variants that appear in designated arenas or spawn zones, so I scout before I commit. Lifmunk Effigies are also a good investment if a particular capture keeps slipping away.
Let’s be honest: a base full of pretty Pals that refuse to work is just a very expensive petting zoo. In 2026, my rule is simple — fast workers first, defenders second, mascots third. Swap in a few of these picks, and you’ll feel the difference. No sweat.
